If you’re looking for a rugged, waterproof action camera in 2021 then the three best choices are GoPro Hero 9, DJI Osmo Action and Insta360 Go 2 – and potentially the forthcoming DJI Action 2. Following a viewer request, I explain which of these is the best option overall by comparing them for video quality, audio quality and stabilization – with side-by-side comparisons. Is the 5K video on the Hero9 significantly better than the 4K video on DJI Action and the 1440p on Insta360 Go2? I explain why better resolution doesn’t always mean better image quality.
I also look at Usability and, in particular, the glitches, faults, defects and shortcomings of the GoPro Hero 9 and the Insta360 Go2 – which has a terrible battery life.
