I took a day trip to Warwick Castle – probably the best British castle for families and other tourists. There are more than 2000 castles in the country, but Warwick Castle is almost certainly the most fun, especially for children. This time around we visited in Winter, which has a slightly different vibe and activities compared to summertime.
Of course, the indoor facilities are exactly the same: The Great Hall, The State Rooms, The Chapel, The Princess Tower, The Dungeon, The Time Tower and The Kingmaker exhibition. However, when the weather is bad it’s worth having waterproof clothing while you explore the Central Courtyard, Winter Birds of Prey show, Archery and Bowman, Horrible Histories Maze, Trebuchet, Oak Tree Lawn, Conqueror’s Fortress and the Towers and Ramparts.
You can book tickets by visiting www.warwick-castle.com (or click the link). Alternatively, you may want to purchase a Merlin Annual Pass which gives you access to the castle and many other attractions across the UK.
